The NDIS will be running more sessions on changes this month.
New way of planning webinar series for the disability sector
NDIS invites you to register for a webinar series on the new way of planning and the support needs assessment process. This will be co-hosted with the Department of Health, Disability, and Ageing.
You’ll hear from experts who’ll explain:
- what’s changing
- why it matters
- how it’ll affect participants.
The webinars will explore:
- the support needs assessment tool (I-CAN) on 18 November at 3pm AEST
- NDIA workforce transition on 27 November at 11am AEST
- implementation of new participant plans on 9 December at 11am AEST.
Each webinar includes a short presentation followed by an interaction Q&A with our experts.

Understanding the NDIS: Overview of changes to NDIS for participants, families and carers
This session helps inform participants, families and carers about the changes to NDIS legislation and what they mean.
This presentation will help attendees understand:
- what’s new
- what has changed
- what is still to come.

Understanding the NDIS: Using an NDIS Plan
This session helps participants, families and carers make the most of their NDIS plan, including:
- different support budgets and how this funding can be used
- what to expect at a plan implementation meeting
- how to find a provider and pricing arrangements
- how to manage the plan budget.

- Wednesday 19 November, 5pm – 6pm AEST
- Thursday 27 November, 12pm – 1pm AEST

Help improve support for unpaid carers
The Department of Health, Disability and Ageing (DHDA) is improving mental health, counselling, and respite services for unpaid carers. They want to hear directly from carers as part of the National Carer Strategy.
If you care for someone with a disability, a medical condition or illness, a mental health condition, or who is frail and aged and you’re not paid for it, you’re invited to share your views.
